This is so, SO good! (Disclosure: I used to be a little bit of a pyromaniac when I was younger - just fascinated by the blue color in flames). I love how you point out the duality of the nature of fire, and, as usual, your insights cause me to think deeper. Keep writing, Cole! God has definitely given you a gift, and I love seeing you using that gift for His glory!
Dude I loved this one. So good and succinct. You have a writing style. And yes, good eye, seeing that fire is a double-edged sword. You might even say that purification/divine presence and judgment/divine wrath are two sides of the same sword.
Indeed my brother! Fire, much like C.S. Lewis' Aslan, demonstrates God's nature to us beautifully (in a pretty general sense). Both images aren't necessarily of safety or tranquility: lions hunt, fires burn. However they are beautiful, powerful, and deeply good things: Aslan lays down his life for the sake of Edmund, fires (long ago) cooked our food, warmed our houses, etc.
Totally love it brother! And keep writing! I love reading your stuff!!
I’m following Jesus!!! Great read again, Cole!
I love your writing Cole. Thank you for continuing to share this gift from God. Yes, Jesus is good, all the time!
